ABOUT ME
I have worked as a free lance graphic designer since desktop publishing began in the mid 1980s. I also spent 24 years in the Communications Department of The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI). As Director, Industry Information and Communications Services, I established and managed the association's literature sales marketing effort, led the staff Internet team that planned and implemented a 1,000-page website, and managed SPI's Information Center that fielded thousands of inquiries from people within industry and the general public. I also provided assistance to the association's government relations, communications and statistics departments, as well as the organization's more than 30 operating divisions. This work included developing several special brand programs, producing video programs, helping create and design SPI's "Fantastic Plastics Works" exhibition at Walt Disney's Epcot Center in Orlando, FL, and drawing several of the association's logos.
Prior to joining SPI, I worked for the Senior Vice President for Associations with the public relations firm, Ruder, Finn & Rotman, Inc. My recent work in web and print graphic design, and on-line marketing and communications efforts includes numerous clients, including the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the National Partnership for Highway Quality, the Federal Highway Administration, the International Sign Association, the Drikung Mahayana Center, the Bio-Process Systems Alliance, the Flexible Vinyl Alliance, VOICE (Sperryville, Va.) and performing artists and restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area. I studied at the University of Virginia and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.
